The Pink Pelican

Exciting, exciting, exciting news!

Amy Price, who is a writer for the Examiner (www.examiner.com), came in recently to our store to see how things were going with our new store. She was beyond friendly and we all had so much fun talking with her about The Pink Pelican. We are so excited about her article that we wanted to share it with you all! Enjoy!

When you walk through the doors of The Pink Pelican’s Bridge Street location, you are struck by the lightness of the interior and the friendliness of the staff.  As you are soothed by subtle, calming scents and sounds, you notice that amid the sweeter offerings of luxurious scarves, children’s clothing and gifts are racks of glamorous frocks begging for a night on the town.

Visitors to The Pink Pelican find that the staff is welcoming, the brands are unique and the atmosphere has a come-and-sit-awhile feel.  Owner Angela Kloote is warm, friendly and excited about fashion and bringing beautiful hard to find pieces of clothing to the Huntsville shopper.

The store’s collection and appeal is varied with warm and fuzzy handmade sweaters by Odd Molly vying for attention next to an elegant Tracy Reese dress recently seen onCougar Town.   Classic black is well represented, but with detailing that keeps it exciting. Silk watercolor prints by Claude Brown that cry out for an art opening and a comfortable-enough-to-nap-in cocktail dress by Yoana Barachi will turn any dress lovers knees weak.  All of the pieces have been carefully chosen by Angela, who pays close attention to the trends and interprets them in a very wearable way.  Her store has a something-for-everyone focus, with quality ruling over quantity. Customers won’t find many of any one item, making the purchase of an investment piece all the more valuable to the buyer.

The Pink Pelican’s original location at the Village on Whitesburg has been up and running since 2007, both locations carry mens clothing as well as a selection of unique gifts.  To help the time crunched or those challenged in the area of giftwrapping, they do that too.  You can also visit them on the web at www.ThePinkPelican.com, and you can find them on Facebook and Twitter.
